NEW AIR CONDITIONING, POWER STEERING & ALTERNATOR COMBO BRACKET SET FOR THE 1963-74 292

USING A SAGINAW PUMP, GM DELCO ALTERNATOR & A SANDEN 508 (SD5) STYLE AC COMPRESSOR.

ADJUSTMENT FRONT TO BACK TO ACCOUNT FOR DIFFERENT BELTING AND PULLEY DEPTHS.

BRACKETS ARE TIG WELDED PLAIN STEEL AND ARE “READY TO PAINT”. JUST WIPE DOWN

WITH SOLVENT AND PAINT.

BRACKETS COME WITH HARDWARE & INSTRUCTIONS. DOES NOT INCLUDE PUMP, COMPRESSOR, ALTERNATOR, BELTS OR PULLEYS.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) 292 ENGINE USING THE 1963-64 OR 1965-74 STYLE WATER PUMP.

2) GM SAGINAW TYPE 1 POWER STEERING PUMP. SEE NOTES.

3) GM 10SI, 12SI or CS130 ALTERNATOR.

4) NON-INTEGRAL CYLINDER HEAD.

5) 2 GROOVE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY.

6) TYPICAL AFTERMARKET SANDEN 508 STYLE AC COMPRESSOR. OTHERS MAY WORK. COMPARE CASE DIMENSIONS.

7) AT LEAST 2 GROOVES ON THE WATER PUMP PULLEY & BALANCER.

WHAT THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH:

1) NOT FOR 292 ENGINES USING 1975-89 STYLE WATER PUMPS. SEE 10010 INSTEAD.

2) NOT FOR USE ON 153 194 215 230 OR 250 ENGINES. SEE 10008 INSTEAD.

3) NOT FOR USE WITH INTEGRAL CYLINDER HEADS.

4) IF YOU ARE USING ONE OF THESE ENGINES IN A 1955 1ST SERIES OR OLDER TRUCK

OR A 1948 OR OLDER CAR, THEN THIS WILL BE TOO WIDE. WE DO NOT OFFER A SOLUTION

FOR THESE APPLICATIONS WHEN USING THIS WATER PUMP AS IT IS TOO LONG. WE

SUGGEST SWAPPING TO A 1975-89 VINTAGE WATER PUMP OR A 250 WATER PUMP FOR

BETTER CLEARANCES.

NOTES OF INTEREST: 

1) WORKS WITH ALL STOCK & AFTERMARKET EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND HEADERS.

2) WORKS WITH ALL INTAKES EXCEPT 3X1.

3) WORKS WITH BOTH 5-1/2″ & 7″ WATER PUMP PULLEY SIZES.

4) PS PUMP NEEDS A STUD NEXT TO THE PRESSURE HOSE CONNECTION AS SHOWN. DO NOT USE A STUD AT ANY OTHER LOCATION.

KEYED SHAFT PUMPS ARE RECOMMENDED. 1969 TRUCK 6 CYL PUMP WORKS WELL FOR REFERENCE.

SHAPE OF RESERVOIR ISN’T RELEVANT. BOTH “MILK JUG” AND “A-FRAME” STYLES WORK FINE.

5) A/C WILL CLEAR ALL POINT, INTERNAL & EXTERNAL COIL HEI DISTRIBUTORS.

6) IF YOU NEED A 2 GROOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY AND YOU HAVE A BALANCER WITH THE WIDE SPACE AT THE REAR,

THEN YOU COULD MAKE A PULLEY FROM A SMALL BLOCK V8 WORK. 1955-68 FOR SMALL FAN PATTERN, 1969-UP FOR THE LARGE PATTERN.
